About The Feature

We are witnessing a historic moment in the Middle East, as a tech-empowered youth push for democratic reform in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya and beyond. With the focus of our blog being Politics and the New Media, we felt well placed to offer special coverage of this event. The new media has played a crucial role in mobilizing support, organizing protest, and providing a platform for the voices of citizens to resonate loudly within the international community. As students from Yale, we have decided to utilize the vast pool of resources at our disposal in order to analyze the Middle Eastern revolutions through our lens. We have interviewed a wide spectrum of regional specialists including historians, national security advisors, and students from the protesting countries themselves so that we may better understand the phenomenon that is currently taking place. We hope you enjoy our special coverage unit.
